Diamond Fidget Earrings

This diamond of semiprecious gemstones and 5mm stainless steel links combines being a practical accessory for a busy life with being a sensory and aesthetic delight. Based on the Diamond Fidget Keychain, this version is made with lighter links so that they are light enough to wear as earrings! 

My work on my other fidget items led me to think about other ways to work sensory input seamlessly into daily life. As someone who links steel for a living, I know the importance of good tools—they need to not just look good; they need to feel good, and last a really long time. I wanted to build something that would appeal to both people’s sense of beauty and practicality. I created this chainmail pattern myself, and I’m quite pleased with the result.
