I start by hand-linking stainless steel rings together to form small diamonds, then subject the whole necklace to temperatures ranging from 400-630F. The fire brings out different colors in the steel, bringing to mind the dragon feather from Madeleine L'Engle's Time Quintet.
You have the option of also adding matching earrings with a heat-treated feather to complete the set!
