To create the Nyx, I began with extra heavy gunmetal-plated links, and suspended dancing blue kyanite beads from its eighteen inch length. I finish with a matching lobster clasp and an extension chain for adjustability, because wrapping yourself in weighty twilight should feel delicious.
 
Named in honor of the primordial goddess Nyx, who coupled with Darkness and Light, this necklace marries darkly gleaming gunmetal with spheres of kyanite, an extraordinary blue stone that mimics mists in a darkening sky. Nyx was usually envisaged as the very substance of night, and the looping Japanese chainmail in this piece recreates her signature veil of dark mist across the shining blue of the heavens.
